Financial wellness starts with a conversation and someone ready to listen.
On October 3, Generations Community Bank joined Citizens Energy Group’s fourth annual Community Resource Day in Indianapolis. With more than 60 organizations announced for the event, including healthcare providers, local businesses, and community nonprofits, the day focused on connecting neighbors with practical resources to support their families.
GCB was proud to be among community partners such as IU Health, Gleaners Food Bank of Indianapolis, AES Indiana, and John Boner Neighborhood Centers. From financial education and utility assistance to wellness resources and children’s activities, the event created opportunities for families to find support and connect with organizations ready to help.
Our leadership team spent time with community members discussing everyday money questions: managing monthly household income, building a budget, and talking with children about money. These conversations offered an opportunity to listen, understand families’ priorities, and share practical financial education.
And the learning doesn’t stop when the event ends. Through our partnership with Banzai, GCB provides ongoing resources to help community members continue building their financial knowledge at their own pace.
Our free online Wellness Center is available to everyone, with resources covering:
- Saving and budgeting: Building everyday money habits and planning for future goals.
- Entrepreneurship and business: Exploring the financial side of starting and running a business.
- Financial education for young people: Learning opportunities for students from third grade through high school.
Thank you to Citizens Energy Group for bringing our community together and to everyone who stopped to connect with our team. We’re proud to be a resource for our neighbors at community events and beyond.
