Building Skills—and Financial Confidence
In June, Generations Community Bank welcomed 16 students from J.H.A.T. (Jesus Had a Trade) and helped each of them take an important financial step: opening their first bank account.
J.H.A.T. is an Indianapolis nonprofit that engages, inspires, and empowers youth and adults to explore skilled trades as a path to employment, management, entrepreneurship, or continued education. Through its mentorship program, participants gain hands-on experience while identifying their talents, interests, and future opportunities
Opening an account was only the beginning. The GCB team continues to meet with the students to support their banking education, answer questions, and help them build the knowledge and confidence to manage their finances as they prepare for their careers.
We’re proud to work alongside community partners that are creating pathways to opportunity—and to support these young people as they build something that lasts.
